"I Purr, Therefore I Am"

I love you Cali, Rest in peace.

Cali had been diagnosed with Feline Hyperthyroidism back in June of 2003, she probably had  the disease longer and I just didn't see/know the signs.  She was put on a daily dose of the medication called Tapazole and my vet told me that she would probably live another year.  Cali was 3 months short of a year and even with the illness she lived to be 18 years of age.  To learn more about Feline Hyperthyroidism click here.

Cali was a female (spayed) domestic Calico, 18 years old.  The picture above left is when Cali was just a kitten and the one on the right is when she became a mom. When she was 1 year old she had 3 kittens.  Two were adopted out and I kept one and named her Punky.  Cali was "Queen" of the house.  I called her the "Greeter" because she would go to the door with me when I answered it and she checked the person over if I let them in.  Cali was very responsive and loved it when people came over to visit.  She didn't fancy being held a lot but she liked being in the same room with me and followed me around.

Cali's favorite things were:

 Lots of attention (of course)

 Being brushed

Any toy with catnip or a bell in it

Q-tips and nail files to bat around

Laying in the window or on the window ceil...

 or on anything I'm reading

Playing with her food before eating it

 Sleeping
